Geiranger village serves as the central hub for exploring the fjord. Surrounding the village are high-altitude viewpoints offering clear perspectives of the water and cliffs.
The village itself is small, with a permanent population of around 215 residents. However, it connects directly to several high mountain roads that lead to popular overlooks.
You can drive to these locations or book a guided bus tour from the village center. Keep in mind that mountain passes, including the road to Dalsnibba, are closed during the winter months.
