The Fjord Waters & Waterfalls

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage waters of Geirangerfjord.

The fjord is 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) long and reaches depths of 258 meters (846 feet). Steep rock walls rise up to 1,400 meters above the water. These cliffs frame famous waterfalls and abandoned mountain farms.

A cruise or ferry is the most direct way to see these features. From January 1, 2026, passenger ships under 10,000 tonnes must be zero-emission to enter the fjord.
